I'm Amy, a Taiwanese-Australian illustrator who loves to play in the land of daydreams and whimsical adventures inspired by daily observations and childhood nostalgia. There is plenty of inspiration when I as a mama to my own Ramona Quimby and Beezus! I wear many hats, usually multiple ones at a time. Aside from being an illustrator, I am also a medical doctor, a published photographer, a nerdette and a hopeless chocoholic. I'm a current member of the SCBWI Australia East & New Zealand, and part of the ASA Style Files.
I produce art and surface design patterns for all sorts of applications including greeting cards and textiles. I love working with gouache and ink the most. I started my art journey with pencils and pastels and have also worked with watercolors, oil paints and acetate cells. Kooky Chooky came about from amalgamating my thing with chickens with my slightly offbeat nature and career path. I was born in the year of the chicken (Rooster) in the Chinese Zodiac, so have taken to this representation of myself over the years. Kooky Chooky gives you a peek into my personal whimsical world and I hope you like what you see! |
